First fitting

The baste is where we stop guessing

Bring the shoes you will wear with the garment. Jackets need the shirt collar you actually use—not the clean one you Save for fittings.

We pin in white basting thread. Nothing is final—the shell exists so you can feel balance in the shoulders and see break on trousers. Expect an hour; we photograph posture references only with written consent.

After the baste we note canvas ease, sleeve pitch, and whether your collar gap is posture or pattern. Second fitting addresses handwork and finishing goals.
